Weekly Dark Sky Walks until 31st March 2023

Our Weekly Dark Sky Walks continue until 31st March.

Dark Sky Walks are gentle and for all abilities on flat terrain (on gravel path & short board walk).  We traverse a 2.5km loop to experience the dark skies of Mayo and of course make use of a clear sky for stargazing if conditions allow.

    Remaining dates:

Friday 31st March - New time of 8.30pm

Starting time is 8.30pm and location  - Letterkeen Loop Trail Head:  https://goo.gl/maps/N8fs93qpoFncaFJB6

Please check the weather forecast first.  We walk in most conditions except heavy rain, snow or ice (or weather warnings).  Wear sturdy shoes and wrap up warm with plenty of layers.  Head torches optional - preferably red light.

Irish Research - Dark Skies at Night

These events are part of Irish Research in Mayo Dark Sky Park and walkers may be asked to take part in a walking interview (no pressure) whilst experiencing the dark skies of Mayo.

    Duration: Approx 2.5 hours
