As part of National Heritage Week, the joint programme launch for ALAN 2025 and Mayo Dark Sky Festival 2025 will take place in the W Cinema on 16 August at 12 Noon.
The event will feature a screening of Wild Islands, by award winning Westport based Crossing The Line Productions and will be followed by a short talk and Q&A with Eoin Warner, renowned wilderness guide and wildlife documentary presenter.
The screenings will highlight the wonderful natural heritage along Ireland’s west coast, with the region’s beautiful dark skies adding to it by supporting the biodiversity that relies on such natural nightscapes.
Space is limited, tickets are just €5 (children €1) and can be purchased via festival website www.mayodarkskyfestival.ie
This event is presented by Friends of Mayo Dark Skies and Dark Sky Ireland for National Heritage Week and supported by Mayo County Council.
